James you soun dlike an broken record saying the same thing all the time, it reminds me of Art Bell...people think what they are hearing on the "new" radio show is an robot they conjured up to sound like him...it's not the real him.

Ok, wen tto the coast today to look over things for an Christmas trip there and it's going down the tube so as to say. They great picture they have in theOregon Coast magazine of the Glow mini-golf place isn't or wasn't when we were there like in the enticing magazine. In fact some of the indoor/outdoor carpeting looked very worn to me. I played an lousing game with my hubby, after the second hole he stopped keeping score. So goes my third time ever playing mini-golf. If I got the shot through the obstical, it took forever trying to put it into the cup..at least 3 or four times. I looked at him one time, raised my eyes and kicked it ever so slightly with my foot and said...I'm no "Tiger Woods" deary. He said to watch what I was sayin gor he'd start keeping score again. So you hit th elittle ball on the 17th hole, it goes under and little board...and comes up in an small like elevator..your ball...and goes way high and comes down and falls onto an another board and goes through an huge wooden whale...and comes out it's mouth and the game is over. The one that really got me was the perfect U shaped hole...it reminded me of shooting pool and having to hit the edges so-so to get it in the cup by bouncing off the sides of the frame of the hole.  Tha'ts the one I used my footsie on.

Ok..that being done...many of the premier Christmas Motels/Resorts ask people to be in reservations and booked before Octorber...some of them take the best spots the day after Christmas an year ahead. So it is with the Great Wolf Lodge in dear old Washington State...for family sized rooms. For an mere $40 you can arrive with an decorated white Christmas tree in your room and snowflake bedding and an cookie and milk delivered to your room every night. They won't quote you prices until after you make the booking apparently. This is called the "Snowflake Package".

Sarah mentioned going to the coast..So far I've checked out two of them in the same gneral area...being close to everything. Walking or riding...but unless Lincoln city decorates for Christmas I have all the ammenties they offer in my own livingroom.

I checked out the Mt. Village Resort for thier rental trailers (homes) completewith lofts and everything furnished to no tfind an phone number to call them. They are realtively close by as to the driving. But should I make this for Thanksgiving or for Christmas, or for New Year's Eve is the question. So I need to do some consulting with the other half of my party...before I rent anything.

So far price wise I'm not feeling into the Christmas Spirit to go to any certain one place as of yet. But tis true, I need to start budgeting to go anywhere at all this year and that left me in an state of depression all the way home, soooo...I hit up Farmer John's  produce and nursery stand an bought an real honest made old fashioned strawberry shortcake. First I've had in years on end. We went to the Oregon Garden last year and the Evergreen aviation Museum and water park last year...can't seem to find anything as good this year so far...so I'm planning and planning  and doing more planning trying to make this year as nice. I left with little breakfast, an dit was on the run this morning...we ate at 2 pm at artic circle, first palce we saw, and I was starving....and I got myself an south western  grilled chicken taco salad with small fries...who can go without "special fry sauce" and blew my diet most likely though the chicken in it was grilled. They closed down our "Artic Circle" fast food place years ago widening the highway through town....and I guess I had "Christmas" on my mind ...we both did...when he picked it out....I should of gotten an bigger order of french fries instead of the smaller one...they fry sauce was excellent.  So now it's an red alert to diet ASAP.  You know the reatilers the day after JUly 4th...Independce Day brought out the Holloween decorations...I thought that an bit early also, but I guess if you want something, you'd better aheed to working at it.... at least 6 months in advance.  No Holloween, but I do have my scarecrow for "Harvest"outside on the porch and off to one side my bird house with an little bird holding an sign that say's "Autumn rentals"...I have yet to supply the bird feeder though. It rained last night..not an lot.... but enough to get things wet, I went outto get the "fresh air" smell... and I think I heard the top of my very tall trees singing praises to the lord...here it was dark and I felt like the world was in jubilee and everything could quit dying for lack of rain. Well, another day tomarrow...I'll keep working at this situation...what we do for Christmas this year?

Ha, ha, ha broken record James - nice one Shirley!

Does that mean the cracks are showing and would that be a 78rpm, 45rpm, 33rpm or an LP? 78 being faster than others, 45 somewhat slower, 33 slowing up even more and LP just keep on going, but even more slowly.

Hi to all POEsters...ah, now what I really mean is how are you all POEsters? Is that okay Shirley? Well I did change it slightly...

And Shirley, talking about Christmas already...........wow, hang on we haven't had a summer here yet.

Ron, he's probably the fast 78 record type..but at least I like th epicture fo rhis avatar. I was an Dean Martin fan growing up as an kid...and still have many albums of his...wiht my classic phonograph. What are you all doin gtoday?...I'm gluing and repairing an old pinecone and sorted woddsey type stuff back on an wreath beforeI hang it over an small sack that says...
Warm Spring Museum...and they got thier fire again this year an had an day or so  ago evacuated the Resort grounds. They have one nearly every year that startsnear Highway 26 going through their area by others. To bad they couldn't put out sprinklers some feet off the highway going both directions they could turn on and fed by irrigation off the Dueshutes river near by.

I went out to the kids and go tthier Christmas Vacation school dates today for looking up where we are going maybe if I can stop spending and save some money between now and then. I saw some first pumpkins out fo rharvest today at Fred Meyers sitting near their flowers in bloom. So i tlook slike fall is finally coming and not so far away now.

I need to get back to my excerise...weather permitting, but not Red Sunset Park. Still suppose to be an warm week and when school starts Aug 24th can you imagine 30 students made to sit in rooms without air conditioning...it'sgoing to be an body order day for many sweating it out.

I signed up last night to get reserved for "free" windows 10 on the computer..they said not ot much time left before they won't give it out for for free. Regular price is $119. They will notifiy us on our email messages as to when they plan to install it.  Lazy day...get this wreath finished, hung and need to make dinner.

Talk later on...think up an good greeting James...at least an couple and we can hash over before you announce it officially. Like Art Bell's Show...he uses..".wanna take an ride?"....he had an witch on there the other night...an high priestess none the less...very Santanic enabling. I don' tthink anyone should make her angry if that for any reason, but maybe she can keep him busy for an while and they learn from each other. ..besides Holloween is coming up.

Talk to you later...smiles*.

You know James, that's exactly where I feel I'm living and whomever gave it to me is wrong as to where I should be...if they'd stop persecuting me, things might be different. I just made Christmas Reservation for my kids over at Surftides in Lincoln city for the weekend before Christmas....they are saying if you have over four people you'd better be making the reservations before Oct 1 or the room might not be available. This is at the coast. Short hop down the street from Chinook Winds casino, whihc my little kids can't go into, not even for the nightly conerts, which surprised me....and they got plenty to do at Surftides also, with an huge indoor pool and anon sitew restrurant, plus the beach combing. That's where they said they wanted to go so that's where I'm taking them....have confirmnation numbers as of last night. If I did live in the wide open plains of Oregon, that would be east side Oregon...cowboy country until the fancy homes started going in around Bend. I don' tknow if they still have any "dude" ranches where you can get an room and ride an horse out into  chuck style dinner or not. So many grass fires over here these days that they have closed pretty much everything down. 25 homes burnt down yesterday due to grass fires. Opps headlines read 26 homes liost to John Day area due to the Canyon Creek fire 200,000 acrs has burned as of Friday in 10 fires known. It's getting ot be an yearly thing also, and most the time the wind involved. Some of those fires aren'teven being fought by anyone. WE desparately need rain and less windy days, and this is the time of the year when the east winds generally do blow across the land...can't do anything for recreation with all this mess.Oh, weather man is saying thr east wind will be blowing all the smoken toward Portland now.....Heat advisory is posted for the east side of the Cascade Mts. also. Wish I could give better news then this to ya.  This si what you get with the south to north jet stream weather patterns...drought and fires. 97 and 94 degrees coming up also. My if "Satan" isn't ever busy these days. I go for now an plan to do nothing for the next coupel of days.

Thank you  on that one Ron, just Oregon and Washnigton alone has over 400,000 acres burned and there's been one one in northern California for abou tan month burning,,,,if these are caused by ligthening can' t they contain with an few ligthening rods posted here and there to draw the strike toward it rather then the grass or the trees to burn up?  You ought to go just south of Kanasas City and see the rods on everything in their yards from trees, to houses, to chicken coops, to out buildings, to garden areas even....and electric poles and wires. Of course that area is thier "tornado alley" but they are more likely to get lightening storms then tornadoes.  Some of these fires are so close to water...it makes you wonder how come they couldn' t be put out..maybe Lake Chelan needs an couple of fire boats standing by that can shoot huge distances of water into shore?

James, just for you ..Mesqutie Grilled Turkey...but in Texas an 10 to 12 pound turkey.... would be considered an dinner chiccken most likel for an rainy day.Your gonna cook this turkey in an foil pan..retangle one, deeper then an cake pan. your going to divide 2 cups of mesquite chips, after saoking for 20 minutes in water..and bank the chips on each side of the pan for indirect cooking. Your going to remove the giblets fron te turkey cavity and the neck, and rinse th ebird over and pat dry with paper towels. your going to place inside the turkey one small sweet spainsh onion quartered, one lemon quartered, 3 fresh Springs of tarragon...then close the turkey up at the neck with metal skewer, tuck th eings in and tie the legs together with an wet string. Soften soem butter and use your fingers and rub it over th ebird...season...insert meat thrometer into the thigh, fattest part, but not to touching the bone.If you haven't already done it, add your drained mesquite chips.Place turkey, breast sid eup..grill turkey on an covered grill, over medium coals...11 to 14 mins per pouond.adding briquest sif need be..or one cup aftyer 1 hour of grilling.  Meanwhile soak additional tarragon sprigs in water. Combine 1/4 cup melted butter, 2 tablespoons lenon juice, chop 2 tlblespoons of tarragon. or if dried 2 teasponns together, and 2 cloves of minced garlic...brush half the mixutre during the last 30 mins of grilling..and continue grilling, use the other half about 10 mins before the temperature gage reaches 185 F. ..transfer the turkey to an carving board and let rest under an foil tent of 15 mins. before carving. If you use an propane BBQ...turn it on low or use only one side of the heat and half way cooking turn the pan slightly to the other side. Now serve with COWBOY BEANS....

1/2 lb of cooked and drained hamburger or sausage, and 1/2 lb of bacon...add1/4 cup of chopped onions, No. 2 cans of pork and beans, drained kidney beans, drained lima beans, drained butter beans....those would be the 16 oz cans...top it with 1.2 cup o fbrown sugar, 1/2 cup white sugar, 1 tsp of salt, 1/2 cup catsup, 1 tsp dry mustard, 2 Tablespoons vingar...and stir it together and pu tin an casserole dish..bake 350 degrees for 40 mins. Serve with grilled turkeyand corn on the cob and dinner rollsornbread and apple butter and an really good cold strong beer.  Later on serve it with an apple crisp for dessert...warmed up and one scopp of ice cream.   Don't forget your hat, boots and gun belt also.

an your neck kerchief for your napkins...just take i toff your neck when needed.

Add some  fresh salsa on the side for the beans also..  Do it up TExas STyle.

I go for now..have an good day...I smell autumn in the air now...as o fyesterday.
