Hi there,

First up, love this site.  Used it a lot when we had a trip a couple of years back to Devon & Dorset.

I am now living in Singapore and am now researching areas to relocate to for my husband and I to retire to in about 3-4 years time.  Thinking about Suffolk, Norfolk, Hampshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire.  But we are flexible.   I am a Brit who, after 30 years, has a huge hankering to come home for good. My husband is an Aussie.

Coming home this year to look more seriously at property.  Any thoughts on small towns/villages in these areas???  Or do you have others you would recommend? Would really appreciate input.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.Smile

Good morning Beth and welcome to POE!! The property market in England is a bit stagnant at the moment with this 'credit crunch', but if you're thinking of buying it's not a bad time for it as house prices have been tumbling for a year or more.

The south of England is usually more expensive than the north, but as a Hampshire-born lad I would definitely recommend looking at the Andover/Winchester area, there are lots of beautiful little villages there.

I hope you have a great (and successful) time looking for property in England, I'm sure this brilliant site will help.

Andy.
