My name is Lorraine and I love England. We have been 3 times as we have friends in Kent and East Sussex. I am very interested in the medieval period. I have traced the family to Layer de la Haye, Tintinhul , Shropshire and Kent. We are planning on visiting again in 2011. This site I found on searching for market towns. This is a terrific site.

Welcome Lorraine - I don't live too far from Shropshire - will have to look up where that place is! Shropshire is a lovely county.

I haven't really been to Shifnal itself Lorraine - we visit the nearby places of Weston Park, Wroxeter Roman City, Boscobel House and Cosford RAF Museum regularly though.

Hello Lorraine, and welcome to POE. I too am fond of the medieval period. :-) Do you enjoy going to Renaissance Festivals?
