Thanks everyone!  I will be staying in Liverpool and driving down to Cornwall and making stops along the way.  I am especially interested in quaint, nice, historic towns / villages...  I wonder if anyone has any suggestion on where I should make a stop as I drive down south to Cornwall?

I'm not sure about where to stop on the way to Cornwall from Liverpool, but once you get to Cornwall you might like Boscastle and Port Isaac on the Notth Coast, both are very pretty. You'll be able to find loads of pictures of them both on POE.

The Cotswolds is littered with beautiful villages. But if you are starting off in Scotland as you indicated earlier I would certainly recommend a diversion through the Lake District, well worth a couple of daysSmile

I will second that, you must see the Lakes.

Cotswolds would also be good as you go south, make sure to check out Castle Coombe ( said to be one of the most picturesque of Englands villages). Look up all the suggested places here on POE Elizabeth- do take a look at Hawkshead in the Lakes. Your biggest problem is going to be able to fit it all in--- And then there is Lacock !!!
