Originally from Pompey, by a circuitous route have ended up spending most of my adult life in Suffolk, and am glad to be here! Lovely county and not as flat and boring as many would have.
Well things change don't they??!! Have now relocated to West Yorkshire and live with my partner in a stone built house in Thackley on the outskirts of Bradford.
Spend my working life as a self employed Landscape Gardener, doing all the usual things that come with the role and thoroughly enjoy it.
Having moved up north I am now job hunting and spending my free time renovating my girlfriends slightly neglected half plus acre garden.
Hobbies, probably too wide and varied to list, but at the top would be Local and family history, Archaeology, Antiques ( I am the first one I owned!) and identifying the unknown or forgotten and trying to return them to their home for all to see.
Now that last one must get you wondering? I just hate seeing the past being lost, binned & forgotten. Old photos will soon, because of the age of the digital camera, be consigned to the waste bins of life and much like the unrecorded experiences of our beloved WWI veterans be lost for ever.
By now you will have realized I am a bit of a fanatic about historical information of all types and its' recording/keeping for future generations. Oh! if only I had taped my Grandfather when he talked about his life during the Boer War!
