The Hawthorn Tree and the Memorial.

The J F K Memorial set at the top of the special flight of steps. The steps have 60,000 setts in a flight of 50 steps each of which is totally individual . The Hawthorn tree is a symbol of J F K 's Catholic faith. The Memorial was damaged in 1968 during anti Vietnam protests and later repaired by the sculptor.
