The Blenheim Pavilion at Cliveden

This intriguing building was designed in 1727 for George Hamilton,1st Earl of Orkney, to celebrate the Earl's part in the Battle of Blenheim (1704). The architect was Giacomo Leoni of Venice. The architect's drawings suggest its purpose was recreational, for dining, relaxing and bathing etc.
