Lanyon Quoit, Cornwall

This prehistoric monument in Cornwall's far west was once supported by four large stones, and was tall enough for a man on horseback to stand underneath. Following its collapse, one of the stones shattered when they tried to re-erect it, so now it stands with just three supports and only a very small man without a horse could stand underneath it.
