About Mylor

This pretty resort is beautifully situated close to a creek that was once a Royal dockyard, these days it is busy as a yacht anchorage, it is at its most attractive as the waters of high tide gently laps the quay.

St. Mylor's Church is set in picturesque grounds ablaze with hydrangeas and rhododendrons. This stands on the site where St.Mylor is said to have been martyred in AD411. The church is noted for the fine Celtic cross near the south porch and for its numerous memorials to those perished at sea. Of particular merit is the memorial to the commander of a Falmouth packet who died bravely defending his ship in 1803 in the Napoleonic Wars.

This is a superb area for both sailing and walking. There are sailing clubs, and sailing boats, rowing boats and motor boats for hire. Gorgeous walks take in the beautiful fringes of the Carrick Roads, and the numerous creeks of the area.

Visitors will find plenty of pubs in the region, together with shops supplying specialist equipment for sailing and small shops for every day requirements. There is a plentiful supply of fresh fish and seafood, delightful quay side cafe's, bars and restaurants.

This is an exceptionally beautiful place, with much to absorb and entertain the whole family.
