Gwenapp Pit, Redruth, Cornwall

Gwenapp Pit was built to provide an arena for the Methodist preacher John Wesley, and is still in regular use today. The preacher stands between the stone pillars so he can be heard by everyone in the pit, which can accommodate hundreds of people.
