Timothy Hackworths Home

Notably he built at Shildon in 1836, the first locomotive to run in Russia for the St Petersburg railway, of which his son was responsible for the safe delivery and preliminary trials. Also in 1838 the Samson was built for the Albion Mines Railway in Nova Scotia, one of the first engines to run in Canada.
