Coal Drops

This structure was the coal drops. Built in the 1840's they were designed to feed the locomotives. The line went up onto the top and trucks of coal were hauled up there. Within the structure there are three square gaps into which were constructed hoppers and chutes. The loco's pulled along on lines beside the wall and were fed from the chutes.
