Lake District, Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway

One of the many steam locos run by the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. Catch the ferry from Ambleside down to Bowness and continue on to Lakeside. From Lakeside take the train, usually steam hauled, down to Haverthwaite and take a leisurely stroll down to the Anglers Arms for an excellent lunch and return the way you came. In the inimitable words of Wallace and Gromit... A Grand Day Out.
