Ambleside pier

One of the many jetties at Ambleside, this one with the Queen of the Lake moored on its far side. This little boat also known as 'the walkers boat' does short trips across to Wray Castle where it drops walkers off for the lakeside walk down to the Bowness ferry near Far Sawrey, and then cuts across back to Brockhole before returning to Ambleside. Walkers buy a round trip ticket that includes the small foot ferry from Sawrey to Bowness and then join one of the bigger cruisers back upto Ambleside
