Commemorative plaque Newby Bridge

This commemorative plaque at Newby Bridge Station reads 'This tree was planted by the Bishop of Wakefield the Rt Reverend Eric Treacy MBE LLD to commemorate the opening of the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. 2nd May 1973' Eric Treacy was also a specialist in railway photography. The tree for anyone interested is a copper beech.
