Picturesque, rolling moorland surrounds the high upland village of Burbage in the wild and lonely High Peaks of the towering Peak District National Park. It is a much loved village, well used by walkers, whose only wish is to spend their free time exploring the fascinating steep sided valley's woodlands, reservoirs and lofty, limestone peaks. It is an area of great natural beauty where the land forms a rich tapestry of numerous shades of green and gold, intercepted by limestone boulders such as those scattered over Owler Tor. From Burbage Edge there are splendid views over Haversage Moor, Bamford Moor and Hallam Moor. Along the road from Burbage Edge to Haversage, the view due west takes in the sweeping panorama of Hope Valley.

This is a lonely region where the uninitiated often feel cut off from civilisation and yet you are only a short distance from the gracious Spa town of Buxton where there are fine hotels and many visitor attractions. You are also within easy reach of the 'show-piece' caves at Castleton which are open to the public.

For peace and solitude combined with wonderful views and invigorating, crystal clear air, the charms of pretty Burbage would be hard to beat. With so much beauty and so many interesting places to explore it makes a perfect destination for a delightful weekend or a longer stay.
