berry pomeroy castle

I have visited this castle before as I was curious about it since it figures in my family heritage. I have been told that this castle was 'given' to a Pomeroy by William the Conquerer in appreciation for his efforts in the the Battle of Hastings. This scene looks sedate, but the woods around the castle are filled with strange and twisted trees.
