Unfortunately not. This is an ice house or underground fridge, which were often found on large estates (such as Battle Abbey) before the days of refrigeration. They'd fill it with ice during the winter, and use it to store vegetables all year round.

I've often wondered where the Telly Tabbies lived house was. Nice picture.
