About East Anglian Railway Museum

Where better to take the children for a great day out! Here at the East Anglian Railway Museum, children, mum and dad, even grandparents can all enjoy seeing Thomas and his other railway pals, as well as exploring the wonderful age of steam.

The museum boasts a superb collection of railway memorabilia, period railway architecture and engineering. There are engines, railway carriages, all kinds of rolling stock, some standing proudly restored whilst others can be seen in the course of restoration in the Restoration shed erected in 1984.

Everywhere you go you will find friendly volunteers only too happy to answer your questions. For real enthusiasts the museum hosts a number of annual events, these include Steam Days, several Railway Experience Courses, and Diesel Days. Why not come along and try your hand at being a guard, firing and engine, or operating a signal box. Other events include Cider and Beer Festivals.

Later in the year there is Halloween Evening Steaming, and in December you can enjoy both Thomas and Santa!
