About Hawkesbury Upton

A picturesque village in South Gloucestershire, along the Cotswold Way. The Somerset Monument on the Cotswold Edge nearby, was designed by Lewis Vulliamy, and was constructed in 1846 as a memorial to Lord Edward Somerset who led the British cavalry at the Battle of Waterloo.

The village contains two pubs - The Beaufort Arms and The Fox Inn, a small school, a shop, village hall, cricket club, and a post office.
