Old Royal Naval College

This is said to be Sir James Thornhill holding out his hand for more money. He painted the hall and it took him nineteen years, from 1708 to 1727. He received £3 per square yard for the ceiling and £1 per square yard for the walls. In today's money that is about £400 and £136.
