A Winter's day near Kenley Airfield

The road ahead crosses Kenley airfield, once an important Battle of Britain fighter station, but now just used by gliders. It is said that this particular airfield is the most in intact World War 2 airfield in the whole of the UK. The road curves to the right, but originally curved to the left where a narrow footpath can just be seen. Air raid shelters are numerous, but now inhabited only by bats. Hidden pill-boxes that could, at one time, rise up from the grass at the side of the landing strips can also still be seen.
