Lower Drawing Room

Until the alterations of the 1870s, this was the entrance hall of Palace House. It has also been used as a dining room and gentlemen’s smoking room where topics deemed unsuitable for feminine ears could be discussed in private! When the House first opened, this room was used as a museum for the shipbuilding village of Buckler’s Hard.
