About Emsworth

Super little yachting village tucked away between the many tidal creeks of Chichester Harbour.
It is an ancient port famed for its oyster fisheries and well known for yacht building.

Emsworth is a lively place, with a traditional maritime atmosphere, its harbour sees a constant stream of colourful fishing boats and sleek-white sailed yachts. The local sailing club ensures an entertaining programme of racing and cruising for all classes and there is a maritime museum which tells the history of Emsworth and its strong sea-faring traditions. The museum shows specific displays dedicated to the town's sea-faring families and to the author P.G.Wodehouse who lived here and used local names in his books.

The quay has a pleasing mix of old and new properties, delightful shops, pleasant inns, cafe's and restaurants. All in all, a delightful place in which to while away a relaxing weekend, enjoying splendid seascapes and bracing sea air.

Emsworth is a short distance from Havant, and close to Portsmouth and Gosport.
