Walenty Pytel: 'Mallards', Riverside Park, Ross on Wye
Pytel was born in German-occupied Poland in the 1939-45 war, was kidnapped by the Nazis, but escaped with his mother and arrived in England at the age of five. He studied at Hereford College of Arts and started to produce metal sculptures in 1965. His internationally-recognised works are inspired by nature. 'Mallards' is created from sheet steel and stands in the riverside gardens.
