About Broxbourne

This is an attractive place lying close to the eastern border of the county between the River Lee and the Lee Navigation system, with Hoddesdon being the closest town.

The area is a popular destination for visitors who flock to the Lee Valley Boat Centre where narrow boats can be hired for cruising along the Lee Navigation. The canal towpaths offer interesting walks where you can enjoy watching gaily painted boats pick their way amongst graceful swans and busy little ducks.

Buildings, include the handsome red-brick Monson Almshouses of 1728, these are located in the High Street, close to what is probably Broxbourne's finest feature, the 17th century two storey Priest's House located closeby.

In Broxbourne Wood to the west of the town is Paradise Wildlife Park, a popular family attraction offering a great day out.

The town is central for Hertford, which has a museum, and Harlow. There is a nearby RSPB reserve and opportunities for golf.
