About Bethersden

This is a picturesque village set amidst the glory of the Kentish countryside, a region of tile hung cottages, spectacular old mills and pretty oasthouses. It is a peaceful place lying between Biddenden and Mersham.

Bethersden offers the opportunity to explore both countryside and coast from a hamlet showing properties dating back to the 17th and 18th-centuries. There are lovely walks through fields and woodland taking you to Smarden and Biddenden. Both villages have pubs offering ales, wine and good food to restore you after your stroll. And Bethersden itself has a welcoming inn.

Further afield lie Sissinghurst Castle, Tenterden, Appledore and beautiful Rye Harbour overlooking Rye Bay.

Bethersden is very much an "off the beaten track" village, but once found visitors are known to find their way back again, for here there is a lovely atmosphere and a rare tranquillity
