Fairfield Church, Romney Marsh

This picture shows the isolated situation of this medieval church. The original church was built of lathe and plaster and rebuilt in the 18th century with the brick we see today, but the present construction dates from the early 1900's when the complete Church was carefully dismantled and rebuilt under the aegis of architect W.D Caroe. There was never a Fairfield village, it just served the local farming community.
