A fine entrance to the Sunnyhurst Woods, Darwen, Lancashire. Sunnyhurst Woods was purchased from the Shorrock family in 1903, to provide a park to the north of the town. Until then the Wood's eighty five acres had been a sparsley populated game reserve, but on The 2nd of july 1903 it opened to the public.
