Kestevan and Grantham Girls School

Margaret Hilda Roberts (later Baroness Thatcher, first woman Prime Minister of the United Kingdom) won a scholarship to study at the Kestevan & Grantham Girl's School in Grantham. She became Head Girl in 1943. She then studied Chemistry at Sommerville College, Oxford and obtained her BSc degree. She became a research chemist and later a barrister before moving into politics. She eventually become leader of the conservative party and Prime Minister in 1979 serving three terms in office until 1990. Photo taken by my son on a recent trip to England and edited and uploaded by me!
