King's Grammar School, Grantham

Originally known as The Free Grammar School of Edward VI the school was endowed by Richard Fox, Bishop of Winchester in 1528 although the Old School (now the library) and the Master's House have been dated as 1497. A dining room was added in 1855 and a Long Dorm in 1893. Additions have continued until recently. Among the famous pupils was Sir Isaac Newton from 1655-1661 who then went on to study at Trinity College Cambridge. Photos of Grantham taken by my son on a recent visit to England.
