You can see for miles across the fields from this viewpoint. It's the best place to watch the Red Arrows who regularly fly around this part of Lincolnshire. This was taken on a misty day and only gives a hint at the vast view from here. Image cannot be loaded

The Anglican Parish Church in Scampton, Lincolnshire, is an unsophisticated building dedicated to St. John the Baptist. Portions of it date from Norman times. The church was re-modelled in 1794 and was restored in 1876-7. There is some modern and unsympathetic patching up on the south face of the tower. Image cannot be loaded

A few miles north of Lincoln on the top of the Lincoln Ridge is Scampton RAF base & below it and on the spring line is Scampton Village where there is a pub bearing the name 'Dambusters Inn' after the name given to 617 Squadron, RAF, in WWII. Image cannot be loaded

I think 2 crewmen must have got up late this morning, the formation is a 7 ship instead of the obligitary 9. Anyway, I was lucky enough to catch a couple of minutes of their practice routine this morning on my way through Lincolnshire. Image cannot be loaded
