Indeed you have done a wonderful job with all these village sign shots. BUT !! This one has stirred things up here. I do believe , the shield with the rampant lion (should be gold coloured) is that of William d'Aubigny ( d'Albini ) , an ancestor on my wife's side . Having had a quick investigate found out that the Estate of Kenninghall was given as residence to the Chief Butler of England , i.e. the d'Aubignys. A research of the other shields is now in order. Thank you Peggy, the journey of research has had yet another boost.
