Magnificent gardens surrounding a grand Palladian mansion lying close to Leyburn at the entrance to the vast sweep of glorious Wensleydale.
Sweeping lawns with ancient trees make a splendid backdrop for the house which was designed by noted architect John Carr of York. The house is not open, but the blissful gardens are there for all to enjoy.
Vast flower displays catch the eye at every season, early spring sees terraces vibrant with the charm of snowdrops and daffodils and later comes a show of lilies and lovely old roses. There is a pretty stream, a bog garden and a rockery covered with attractive alpine plants, in the pastures you can enjoy a luxuriant mix of wild flowers, and there are some delightful shrubs and ferns.
Constable Burton Hall Gardens are open from April to October.
