Pictures of Easby Abbey

a Abbey in the town of Richmond, in the county of North Yorkshire

About Easby Abbey

This pleasant place is interesting for the remarkable ruins of a 12th century Premonstratensian Abbey. Here in an idyllic setting you can explore a substantial portion of a once great abbey that in parts remains standing almost to its full height.

The church of St. Agatha is mostly from the same period, this can be found close to Easby Abbey ruins. This shows additions of the 13th century and work from the Victorian era, carried out by Sir Gilbert Scott. The church once possessed the Saxon Easby Cross, but this has long been removed to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
