Gordale Scar, Malham, North Yorkshire
© David Swann (view gallery)
Gordale Scar is a dramatic limestone ravine north-east of Malham. It is believed to have been formed either by glacial melt waters or a collapsed cavern system. Gordale Beck flows out of the ravine and joins Malham Beck to form the head waters of the River Aire.
