National Railway Museum in York

This was the first Stanier 2-6-4T engine to be built. It was built at Derby, at a cost of £6,444, in 1934 for use on the London, Tilbury & Southend (LTS) section between Fenchurch Street and Shoeburyness. It was withdrawn from service in June 1962 and became part of the National Collection having spent its entire working life based at Shoeburyness.
