A picture of York
The Treasurer's House, York, a National Trust building near the Minster. Although parts of the house date from about 1137 most of it dates from the 17th century. The house was radically refurbished around 1900 by industrialist Frank Green. The result is a fascinating building which contains an amalgam of very classy furniture and furnishings.
