Buttertubs Pass
In the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Buttertubs Pass winds its way from Twaite where the road finally stop's at Hawes. This route provides drivers with nice tight twisty roads with great views off the cliffside and some nice picture locations. The name Buttertubs comes from the large limestone potholes which have been formed by the rock face, where it is said farmers would store their butter on hot summer days while they were on their way to their local market town.
