Anglo-Scotian mill

This is the opposite end of the Wollaton Road building. Cottages used to stand adjacent to the factory one of which was once occupied by the famous Nottingham bare knuckle fighter 'Bendigo'. A major problem with the cottages being so close to the factory is that the smoke from the nearest cottage would drift up and into the factory and smoke the workers out so they constucted a 110ft chimney which can still be seen up the right hand side of this gable end, and is in fact the tallest domestic chimney in the world
