A picture of Oxford
Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford
The marvellous Sheldonian Theatre opened in 1669 and was the early work of Sir Christopher Wren. It is used for degree ceremonies and Encaenia which is a ceremony every June, in which the university's founders are commemorated and honorary degrees are bestowed on deserving famous people. It is also used for concerts and lectures.
