We had a wonderful evening cruise in the Bristol Channel onboard this fine old vessel.PS Waverley is the last seagoing passenger carrying paddle steamer in the world. Built in 1946, she sailed from Craigendoran on the Firth of Clyde to Arrochar on Loch Long until 1973. Bought by the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society, she has been restored to her 1947 appearance and now operates passenger excursions around the British coast.

The landing stage at the end of the pier is occasionally used by ships, notably the Waverley and her sister ship, the Balmoral, and is a popular spot for angling. There is a cafe at the pierhead, and a souvenir shop at the toll house. The upper floor of the toll house is occasionally used for art exhibitions. The pier is open every day of the year except Christmas Day.

Built in 1887 by William Green, the Bandstand was lit by gas and originally had no windshields, which were added later to protect bandsmen and improve acoustics. Listen to one of the many bands who play here in the summer months. An ideal way to relax!

Clevedon Pier, the only fully intact, Grade 1 listed pier in the country. The pier has been beautifully restored and provides a lovely day out for all the family. There are wonderful views of the Severn Estuary, the islands Flat Holm & Steep Holm, the two Severn Bridges, and the best sunsets in the West Country.

Millennium Celebration Monument

The Millennium monument was unveiled in July 2000 in front of 1000 onlookers. On the side of the monument you can find a number of plaques, engraved with the names and logos of several local clubs and organizations. Clevedon's twin towns, Ettlingen, Epernay and Middlekirk are also represented. The sculpture is 5 feet high and cost £9,000.

Waterloo House was built in 1829, by a local man, George Somerton, whose family owned it until 1926. The Grade II listed building now houses a comprehensive selection of photographs and artefacts from Clevedon's past. It also has a gift shop selling quality souvenirs and local history books.

Clevedon's summer playground where many residents and visitors come to relax. There's a miniature railway, a bouncy castle, crazy golf and tennis courts. Donkey rides are often available at weekends. Ice creams and fast food are also on sale.

Disaster struck Clevedon pier on the morning of 17th October. On the 27th May 1989, after many years of hard work fund raising, painstaking restoration and re-building work, Clevedon pier finally re-opened to the public.
