About Ilminster

Charmingly set in the favoured Somerset countryside is the pleasant little town of Ilminster. The town has a fine parish church that houses many treasures, it also contains the tomb of the family that gave their name to Wadham College, Oxford. The church has a Perpendicular tower and is well worth a visit. Another building worth seeing is the old grammar school, now a school for girls, and dates from 1586. The town has several other interesting buildings and offers a nice variety of shops for the visitor to explore.
