Tombstone

The inscription on the stone reads i.h.s. A quick search on the internet gives plenty explanation. It isn’t stand for ‘In His Services’. It could stand for: Jesus, written in old Greek [Ihsus] or proper Latin abbreviations; in hoc salus (There is safety in this); in hoc signo spes mea (In this sign (the cross of Christ) is my hope) or in hoc signos vinces (By this sign you will conquer) Well, who said this site was not educational? - Somerset, May 2010
