Chertsey bridge ( surrey ) over the river Thames, at dawn.
© Sean Grogan (view gallery)
Taken from a seating area on the south side looking up stream, at the area looking at the bridge plaque. This bridge looks a lot lie many others but it is the new bridge at this ancient crossing point on the river, with is being the first point to cross for hundred of years with the banks a distance to have a single span till the Romans arrived with multi arch Bridges. This then gives why the River Thames has two castles on it unlike any other with Windsor just along a couple of miles standing guard over such a important crossing point. This first bridge being a foot bride from the Nuns cloisters on the north side of the river and at a point these days next to Laleham rowing clubs building on the riverside.
