Found in the Churchyard of St James's Church this is apparently a stone erected at the turn of the century , there is a plaque near to the stone with the inscription written on it. ( see photo to read the inscription )

The church and grounds in late June 1984, including a stunning flowering bush - maybe a large rhododendron? Mom's notes on the back have the town spelled Cheré, so I wonder if that was an old spelling she saw somewhere while visiting.
