Found this splendid bunch of teasel growing on Holmwood Common as I had a quick stroll. I have never been across the Common before so it was a follow ones nose as the tracks and markers did not seem to match the map board at the car park - I am here so did not get swallowed into a black hole.

As we pulled into the National Trust car park at Fourwents pond this little fella was there straight away on one of the small posts checking out who had dropped in on his patch.

Twas a little damp this evening and the biting things were flying, but all was calm at Fourwents Pond, although the water did really look thick and brown and muddy.

Result of a quick stroll round Fourwents pond , just seeing what a new piece of glass can do, it is not a macro lens and it is a very budget price one so I am not expecting miracles.

The circular walk around Fourwents Pond goes over a few of these bridges where water feeds into the pond and in this case flows out on it's journey.

These two riders were enjoying a typical countryside horse ride. Even if this rural spot they had to watch out for the traffic, there were quite a few large tankers, I thought they were out of place but then maybe they were milk tankers (they did look very clean for your average lorries).

The stark bare tree made a natural frame. Fourwents Pond is quite small but there are a number of opportunities for many different views for photography.
