Gatekeeper (Pyronia Tithonus) in Whiteley Woods

The Gatekeeper is common in Most of England and Wales, although it appears to reach the northern limit of its preferred climate in South Yorkshire and is absent from Scotland. Within their range Gatekeepers are a common site at the edge of woodland paths and tracks, where they patrol close to the ground.
