Priest Hole

A flagstone would have been placed on top so that the kitchen floor would look normal. The priests would have had to go down on a rope to the sewer system (on the left side) below the house to escape detection. They sometimes had to spend days there up to their waists in water and stuff with no light and little to eat or drink.
