Garden near the Abbey Ruins, Reading

This small garden near the Abbey Ruins has as its centrepiece a bronze statue by Elisabeth Frink. The figure is a replica of one of three figures in a tableau of the Dorset Martyrs at Dorchester. Rather spookily, the figure chosen to stand here near to the Abbey ruins represents Death or the Executioner, perhaps symbolising the destruction that went on here.

Good image as ever Edward. Interesting script makes all the difference in such shots. Makes me want to go to Reading.

Good shot Edward, glad you had a day when the garden was free from the litter.
